Dr. Ghavami: Bamboo Guri
Today our group visited PUC-Rio (or Pontifícia Universidade Católica, nicknamed PUCi), the university we will be working with during our time here. It was so nice to be on a college campus again after being in the city for three days! The major difference between Pitt and PUC-Rio? Bamboo, it's everywhere. Bascially, PUC-Rio set in a gorgeous bamboo forest. Sounds like the perfect place for our group of bamboo nerds to me. While at PUCi, we will also be building a bamboo bicycle with the help of Dr. Ghavami, a genius in all areas of alternative materials.
